Times Have Changed;
Not so long ago the start of a house-hunt was signaled by the quiet chime of the bell over a real estate agent’s door.
Things have changed and most buyers don’t set foot inside an agent’s office at all if they don’t have to! Searching that once took months can now be done while waiting for the kids to finish sports training in the afternoon or on the train to work. These things didn’t seem possible even 10 years ago … but are we using these bounds in technology to our fullest advantage?
The vast array of Real Estate tools available are too many to list, they can allow you to find the sold property prices in your search area, alert you to new listing as they come onto the market, organize a hit list of open inspections with address and mapping functions to ensure you never miss a fabulous new property again! Our favourite APPS are;
http://www.domain.com.au/- allows some very specific alerts to be sent. If you have a problem with cemeteries, you can specify homes at least 5km away from them, but within 1km of a park. You can choose to be close to the train station, but away from jails and power stations. You can search for a home within those constraints, but also make sure you’re only sent three-bedroom properties that have a balcony and a shed within your search areas. A daily or weekly alert with these properties is easily set up through their search function. http://www.realestate.com.au/- has similar functionality, but it’s not quite as specific. Its advantage is it seems to have more properties listed. We love the environmentally friendly search options such as solar panel and energy efficiency filters.
